Notice of Child Protection Policy



The Bowls Development Alliance in partnership with Bowls England and the English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd have developed a policy for the sport of bowls which outlines the three organisations committment to ensuring that the sport provides a safe environment for all young people to play. E.C.B.A. County Members are required to operate a Policy for the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults and to appoint a Child Protection Officer. It is a basic requirement that the parent or guardian of a child under the age of 18 and/or the carer of a Vulnerable adult participating in the activities of the Association, shall arrange for that person to be transported to/from the venue. Their County Association shall obtain the consent of the parent or guardian of the under 18 year old for them to attend that event. The Eastern Counties Bowling Association shall provide a person, cleared under the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS), at any event that is solely organised and run by them.


Team managers and Coaches involved with League teams containing Under 18 year olds are required to have been cleared under the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).
